SOMETHING TO TELL THE PEOPLE OF EDMONTON?

Concerned

I am leasing a a condo through a private owner. My concern is the business across stress. The company is Alberta Co-op Taxi.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

Because parking is limited on the public street and the business in area when my visitors park on the public street drivers have been rude. Second the wrecks they tow in from accidents. At times when I have cut through the parking lot on days I walk from the bus dont see accident stickers. My balcony faces the street the things I have seen. I work shift work so my sleep varies.

Late at night sitting on my balcony I see people snooping through the damage vehicles. On quiet evenings sitting on the balcony sound carries I have people yelling from the building when the windows are open. This same in the middle of the night. I have a male yelling. Sound Carries. Sitting on my patio I have heard staff talk about other staff I don’t know if they are supervisors.

I have heard talk about bed bugs. Out walking my dog in the morning walking on 114 Street. I have smell marijuana on staff enter the building. I don’t care what people do at home but if your going to work intoxicated on any substance shame on them. Last summer I saw a young lady get escorted out by the police. I have seen an old man do an exchange of some type. I have called and e-mailed the supervisor about my concerns. No one returns calls or e-mails. My visitors have also called. I know a couple neighbors have. No follow up no nothing.

ANOTHER POST:  Concern Regarding Bottle Drives These Days

When I took to face book address concerns on the page they deleted posts. I read how they dealt with a concerned parent. When I called one weekend for a taxi from whyte ave area or downtown I get told I have to flag. I said I have tried thats why I am calling. You can in hear in the back ground don’t enter trips tell customers to flag. I asked do you lie to me a customer you saying your going to put my trip in than I hear someone say dont put my in trip tell them flag.

The last straw was when I stopped at the McDonald’s after work to grab a snack before I went home a driver thought I was a prostitute. I am wearing nursing scrubs because I work as a nurses aid. Really.

You call to complain they dont return your call. You e-mail they don’t respond. When a person address things on the company facebook page they ask you to e-mail again. Why should I have to e-mail them again. What kind of company is this.

  1. 1st of all it’s the most racisist cab company out there..This shady broker is never held accountable..Greasing city council’s pockets..Biggest mistake is calling the company with complaints. They sweep those under the carpet..Self governing basically..The cartel is what it is actually..What you all need to do is stop calling the company and start calling City transportation ..These are the ones that have no hand in profits..City transportation department is where you need to lodge sexual touching as well..Call takers hear these stories daily and the cartel covers it up..

    1. They park their cabs everywhere. Even several blocks away. I have seen two or three in front of my building which is about three or four blocks from their stand. They don’t live near the building.

  2. These are the same people that rape customers, rip their shirts off in city hall, block rush hour traffic in protest of something completely legal, have their friends work under the table in their cabs ( friends that aren’t even employed with co op) all I can say is UBER!!!!

    1. The insurance is still sketchy at best and now uber is know to charge you longest distance and pay driver shortest..Stealing off the top before the steal the % n tech fee..Just as bad if not worse than a taxi broker..

  3. Dear concerned customer and other readers of Shoutout Edmonton,
First off, we would like to state that we treat all customers with respect and make sure to address any complaints that come to us via phone, email, or social media. We have every desire to address customer needs and provide the best service to resolve any issue as soon as possible. We did receive a complaint from a resident in the same building about parking on the street, however, street parking on 105 ave is legal and public for residents and businesses. We no longer tow wrecks from accidents to our lot as it is more proactive to take them straight to the mechanic shop.

    1. Can you explain to me how its possible that one of your employees crashed into a truck with a dash cam then proceeded to deny any wrong doing g to the police? Then a completely different person showed up to the court date and also pretended to speak no English until the video was played of the crash then all of a sudden just like magic English words start coming out of his mouth…

    2. Can you also explain why it’s actually part of the safety orientation for some companies up north to tell the female employees to stay out of cabs if they have been drinking due to such high reports
      Of rape

    3. Co-op you have gone downhill your drivers are rude they will take advantage of people they assume don’t know their way around to make the fare more . They are serious perverts not all but almost all . You can defend yourselves all you want but you are in the wrong and have been for a long while. When parents cannot let their daughters ride in your cabs because the drivers are perverts there is a serious problem and you don’t deal with it you continue to shuffle the complainants off to someone else .

  4. A taxi driver is required to have their taxi license with the drivers picture on it. But many times the picture on the license and the person driving are two different people. Confronted one driver on this and got kicked out of the cab. Thanks CO-OP taxi

  5. My sister and niece were coming over for the weekend, I was paying for their cab, I SPECIFIED that with the dispatch, when her driver asked her cash or debit, she told him I was paying at the stop, son of a bitch made my sister and niece get out of the cab on Yellowhead Trail! I looked for that car number for a very long time! I hate CO-OP Taxi!

  6. Last week I had to go to a business by Co-op taxi’s head office. I parked on the public street. This business was about a half a block away. I had a similar experience one of the drivers was being rude to me. Telling to me to move. I did call the number and e-mail from the web site no one returned my call or responded to my e-mail they are full it when they say they do. My friends and I have similar experience with calling cabs at 2am Friday or Saturday. Its nice to know why NOW. I have have drivers get pissy when I want to use my debit card or threaten me to call the police on me when I don’t get out the cab because they don’t want to drive me to a destination. Because I have had similar experience does that make me someone who dislikes Co-op staff or a disgruntle employee?

  7. The brokers(cab companies) Don’t care about riders..They make their $$ off the renters and owners(drivers) .So sadly the people don’t matter..They lose when drivers quit or pull cars off.

  8. Co-op taxi is a piece work and something else. I have friends that live in the Maxx and Zen building. Co-op drivers will tell you park some where else when parking on the public street. Twice walking to my car last year and this year drivers thought I was a hooker. The things we have seen and heard. OMG!! I can’t believe SCAN Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods has not done an investigation. I use Uber some of the drivers are former Co-op drivers they confirm a lot of things I have read. Not to mention word of mouth by former drivers is just as powerful as social media. Why all the similar experiences from people. The comments on FB, Google and Yelp really. I guess everyone does not like co-op staff or is just a disgruntle employee. Really. People live and work by your head office. Former drivers talk. Does the truth hurt. They don’t respond to complaints. No one got back to me the 2 times I complained.

  9. How these drivers (staff/employees) conduct themselves is everyone’s business. They represent their employers co-op taxi. So people living in the area and people who work in the area customers who have to go to other business in the area are seeing this.

  10. This person is minding their own business. Its the drivers and dispatchers that draw the attention to themselves. Good point how word of mouth is just as good as social media. Co-op brought this on themselves.

  11. Just sounds to me like you bitch about everything and you need to move to the desert , no noise no smells nothing and you can rid us of your annoying ass as well

  12. I smell a big festering pile of shit. Its call Co-op taxi. They get refuse certain forms of payment. They get a shitty attitude when you want to pay with debit or credit card. When you get in a cab give them your destination address same shitty attitude. When they don’t want to accept the form of payment or take you to your destination they tell you to get if you don’t they threaten to call the police. They do not address concerns. I complained nothing was done. Shitty drivers and shitty customer service. Funny thing is former Co-op drivers share similar stories.

  13. I’m confused are you complaining about co op or where you live or both? You talk about co op then you talk about people on the street then you talk about the staff in the building then you talk about the happenings of the building… Then you talk about being mistaken for a prostitute; which come in all shapes and size… And if ur talking about the company that owns the building what company is that? This seems more of a rant than anything.

  14. 17 % of your customer base gives this company a positive review. The other 83 % all negative. How much of those positive reviews are done by your staff. One thing about any business is especially customer service the public are always watching and commenting. There are residents and business by the head office. How many people walk by on a daily basis. People see. People talk. Past drivers or Co-op staff these people talk to people. People who share the bad experiences. I believe there is truth to this post. The person who posted this must of hit a sore spot because of some of the reactions to this. To blame it on a disgruntle employee or someone who does not like Co-op staff is just a scapegoat because this company does not want to be accountable for anything it does. The driver who threaten a kid than run over his toe should be in jail for hit and run only to give the driver a four day training coarse. Really sad. Co-op taxi sure knows how to deal incidents. Your creepy driver last night showing a collection of items he got from people who owe him money suspicious, shady, and sketchy. Instead of taxi broker license this company have a pawn broker license.

    1. If you read through this you will see Co-op taxi deletes negative complaints off their social media. I can see why this upset resident posted her concern. All they do is sweep issues under the rug.
