SOMETHING TO TELL THE PEOPLE OF EDMONTON?

We’re not going anywhere

To all of those who choose to hate instead of choosing peace, unity and love… This post is for you. I am a Muslim and a Canadian, and I’m proud of it. I have never done anything to hurt a single person, not with my actions or my words. I understand there are ppl out there that have done horrible acts in the NAME of my religion, but I can assure you (as any true Muslim would) that those ppl have no basis in Islam. They are purely glorified criminals. They choose to terrorize ppl in horrific ways in order to gain attention from the media and to scare the people into submission. These ppl are not worthy of all the attention they are getting. These ppl deserve the wrath of Allah that is coming to them soon one day.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

But enough of those idiots. Let’s talk about what is happening as a result of what these idiots have done and continue to do…

As a result of all these horrific acts, more and more ppl are scared. They are scared of what’s happening and scared of what might happen in the future. I am scared too. I for one cannot blame you for this. We Muslims cannot believe what this group has done in the name of Islam and continue to do on a daily basis. But what shocks us the most is that more and more ppl are actually believing that most, if not ALL Muslims are like that! Seriously? I mean, really? I cannot understand that! May I remind you all that before ISIS began attacking the West, they were (and still are) attacking the innocent Muslims and non Muslims in the Middle East! They have killed thousands upon thousands of innocent men, women and children in the name of Allah. We hate ISIS too! They are our enemies! May Allah swt wipe them off this Earth and punish them for the rest of eternity!

ANOTHER POST:  Weight Loss Changes People

As a result of all this hate, ppl are becoming more and more distant. They r questioning the intentions of their neighbors of many many years. Places of worship are being attacked. Muslims are now a target of hate crimes. Unfortunately, it is the Muslim women that have to endure the brunt of this because they CHOOSE to cover their head and bodies. How sad. How very sad indeed. My own daughter yesterday, on the way to Eid prayer, mentioned in the car that she was scared. She was scared that while we would be praying, someone who decided that “All Muslims are terrorists and must die” would bomb the place and would kill us all. What do I say to her? No! Not a possibility? I couldn’t say that to her because it is a possibility.

Enough is enough. It is time for us all to come together in the name of love and unity in order to combat this hate and ignorance. I invite any and all of those who have questions to go to your local Mosques and ask questions. We love visitors! We may ambush you with gifts and food, but that’s just how we roll. Let’s fight against hate and unite together! Peace and blessings to all…. I truly wish you all the best 💗.

  1. I am so sorry this is happening you and your families. I am very disturbed and saddened that your daughter is so afraid. No one should have to live with this fear especially children.

  2. I agree with this man. I dont hate muslim people. I dont agree with any ideology like islam or christianity. Any ideology that requires faith is made for fools. Faith is the death of reason. “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities”… so the important part is to use reason the guide your actions, not dogma. Thats the most common sense teaching you could learn.

    1. And anyway its okay to criticise ideas but leave the people alone. It is a big problem with hate being directed at muslims. I like dialogue not anything more.

  3. Atheist here, I view all religions the same. What I love most about this country is that we have voices from all walks of life. I wish every Canadian felt that way, but just like you mentioned, there are always folks who make us look bad.

  4. I visited the mosque being built in Sherwood Park. Everyone I met was so kind and welcoming. It was wonderful to tour their new building and meet the people there. They are friends and neighbors and I’m happy to know them.

  5. Bullies like to take a group and decide they are evil. The whole group is evil. Easier for the bullies this way. The bullies decide to protect themselves by murdering this evil group. Somehow bullies murdering what they perceive as evil, doesn’t count in their minds.
Those of us who don’t feel this way need to continue to speak out against these people. They are wrong. You and your family should not be suffering for their ignorance and prejudice.

  6. I am am atheist as well. Media is responsible for a lot of the hatred against Muslims. Could you even imagine what would have been on Facebook if social media existed when the Christians were committing their atrocities. I don’t care what religion you belong to, I think a big part of the world’s problems would be solved if there were no religions. The biggest part of religion is faith, and if you keep your faith to your god in the face of the adversity you face…..good for you.

  7. May I say that I love you for this testimony. Shout out has a brave heart to step in front of hate. I believe in what you write as the truth since I have so many Muslim friends who I love dearly. I admire them all for overcoming there own personal barriers and raising their children with REPECT and all that is good. I have watched their children grow from babies that I once held in my home to being fine young adults and I must say that right now I miss them and you have made me remember them all. Thank You we have the same truth may God bless us all…people steal the fairness from this world it is not God. To him we are and will always be the same. In God we pray Thank You

  8. I love this post. I love my Muslim brothers and sisters, neighbours, coworkers and friends. Please know in your heart that there are less ignorant and afraid people than there will ever be people who love and respect your people for the kindness and light you as a community bring wherever you go.

  9. I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ this & so very proud of you for speaking up & educating the blind people… I live across from a mosque & surrounded by Muslim families & I have never had fear against any of them…. The store I go to is owned by Muslim & they treat me & my kids with much kindness as I do towards them as well…. I don’t believe in treating others wrong because of a religion; it’s just not right & it’s sad to me that the good of you Muslim have to fight to prove that you’re good people.

  10. Just finished having a similar conversation with a friend of mine over the last 2 hrs. One thing for sure.. ISIL is nothing but a gang of thugs who use fear to divide and conquer.

The best way to conquer any group, is to instill fear, this creates a divide and now that group is weak and easy target for the pickings…. ISIL has mastered this and we (society) have allowed it. 30 yrs ago, someone who publicly spouted hate would of been hung drawn and quartered (Jim Keegstra ring a bell?), but now with social media… it’s everywhere. We have become divided, fear is rampant… unless we change our outlook and start standing together… we have lost.

  11. People need to become more learned about everyone. It’s so stupid that you have to live in fear. I just learned about a friend of mine who was accosted for being “Arab” and she is of East Asian descent from Trinidad/Tobago. Please people stop being so naive and careless around those of Muslim faith.

  12. What I hate- is that you felt that you needed to
Put this out there. I am sorry that people are ignorant and feed off the hate propaganda, and innocent people like you and your family are going through this. I hate that anyone should feel afraid because the acts of cowards.
But I will move in love and if need be I will stand by your side if anyone would should throw their hatred at you.

  13. I am appalled at the way Muslims are being treated in my country. Thank you for your precise and thoughtful post. Throughout history, any race that can be identified easily as non-white or different has been vilified and what I am about to say I do not in any way mean to lessen your suffering. Aboriginals, blacks, Jews, Vietnamese ‘boat people’, Packies (anyone with brown skin in the past), DP’s (displaced persons), transvestites, gays just to name a few have been singled out in my lifetime. I stand up for a person, not a race or basic belief and it really really bothers me how humans treat each other. Canada is supposed to stand for multiculturism. For the most part it is, but with each passing year I am seeing more and more hate and it bothers me.

  14. Why an anonymous post?

There should be uniequivocal ‘global’ open verbal condemnation for these attacks on the West, especially from Muslims, to demonstrate plainly this unity and fight against hate, you mention in your post.

    [0]
    1. Why should every Muslim apologize for the acts of extremists acting under the false label of Islam when they have nothing to do with it? I do not expect my Christian friends to apologize for extremists executing gays in Christian countries or bombing abortion clinics.

      [0]
    2. Where did I say ‘apololgize’ for anything? Re-read my post.

These attacks are disgusting and need to be publicly and clearly denouned. If a unified global population vocally condemed these atrocities, that would put even more pressure on the attackers.
Executing gay people is not necessarily being done by ‘Christian’ motives. Its being done by dictators for political control. These need to be condemned as well.

  15. Happy Eid to you and your family ❤
I could not agree with you more … it is time to all come togeather and stop acting like scared children hiding behind our fear and ignorance and see people as they truely are … regular people just trying to survive this current world crisis … not all Muslims are terrorists and not all Canadians are hatefilled racists … stop the hate ❤

  16. Sobriety makes a huge difference because that proves there are sober people who practice what they preach or believe in. Addictions are evil. They ruin and destroy everything. Addictions don’t care about cultures or religions. It takes away love and humanity. Drugs brainwash humans easier than anything. Blaming religion is for the ones who don’t want to live sober or don’t know how.

    [0]
  17. Well. When your worshipping a man who was a pedophile. The abuse and rape of women and children. The burning of Christian churches and their hanging. And the throwing gays off of buildings heck yes people are going to be distant and hateful. Of course. If they weren’t, then i would be questioning our morals and values. Do you really expect people to turn a blind eye?. To act like it’s all hunkey Dorey?.

    [0]
    1. Have you heard of what Christians do in some extremist Christian countries to women and lgbtq people and non believers? Do you judge all Christians as if they are the same as those extremists?

      [0]
    2. Mmmmm lets see white people kept black people as slaves….SLAVES….you dont think those good Christian men didnt rape “their” women and children? Get your head out of the sand

  18. Blame the media and our govts for all of the misinformation being spread. He who controls the media controls the public thought. I feel bad that a few terrorists are making a whole religion look bad but freedom of speech is super important and is a huge privilege in this country and this is what we need to fight for. We should have the right to criticize any religion or have opinions without fear of being a “criminal”. On a final note, I am sorry you are going through this, you should be able to practice your religion without fear. People need to hold the media and govt accountable for their reckless endangerment of minorities and anyone who disagrees with the mainstream brainwashing. This is a large topic, too much for facebook.

  19. Agreed. Unfortunately, Islam has gotten the brunt of the terrorism definition.
Truth is that it’s not new and others have done it. The circle continues.
As someone once told me, “there aren’t enough books written about RESPECT.”
Education, as OP encourages, is a must.
People don’t even look each other in the eye, let alone smile, anymore.

  20. Thank you for this and I agree with you. Enough is enough is right! I am seeing the same fear and hate and I am ashamed of my fellow Canadians. I for one am glad to have Muslims in my country and appreciate the help you have offered fellow Canadians in need. You should be free to wear what you wish and I support that. I wish you all the best as well. Happy Canada Day!

  21. White supremacists and bigots have been showing up at the mosque and Islamaic Academy in my neighborhood lately…most recent at the Academy during an Eid children’s carnival! It is disgusting. I have lived in this neighborhood for over a decade and love my Muslim neighbors.

  22. We see what Muslims are doing in counties like Sweden…. Germany …and the UK …..an now starting in the US and CANADA

I don’t think that anyone wants that shit happening here

Muslims make alot of “demands” and expect us to adhere to your beliefs …if you want to live under all those Islamic rules then maybe you should stay in a Muslim country

Why come here an complain about our way of life…our food and our celebration … wouldn’t it be better to stay in your own country and enjoy what Allah has in store for you

I’m a atheist and don’t agree with ANY religion and don’t feel I should have to adhere to Islam…christain ….or Jewish beliefs…. respect their beliefs …yes….live by them…not a chance .

As a atheist….I believe that religion is the root of all evil weather it be Muslim… christain…or Jewish…the only religion that doesn’t make any demands an live peacefully in any country they are in is budist they live by their rules and rules of the country they live in

    1. Ya I read it….an what makes this my country is that my haritage has been traced back to the 1504 an even before that….that’s when the Catholic Church started keeping birth records …so ya this is my country….bet you can’t say the same

    2. You boob …..every point you make is despicable. Haha are you educated at all on race or are you just gulliable and following this oppinion cause you like to hate…..here is one for you asshole…..mankind orginated in Africa…that is a scientfic proven fact. What gave your ancestors the right to come here and not everyone’s? Do you suppose they tossed each and every custom they came with? Or do you think maybe they evolved and shared customs with others? Your opponions make me ill.

  23. Not one Moslem I have personally known has ever hurt another human. How many Christians do you know who Have? Drop the bullshit about religions and take responsibility for the acts of the individual
