SOMETHING TO TELL THE PEOPLE OF EDMONTON?

Sleepy car dealership

I bought my brand new Charger SRT AT Capital Chrysler Jeep on Ellerslie, what a mistake!

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

They have had to redo my 3M protection twice, and both times damaged my car. While they had it for almost an entire week, they drove it 300 kms. And it looks like I may need a new windshield on it.

When I went in to talk to the sales manager, Jeremy Dally, he told me not to talk to him like that. Oh what, I’m supposed to smile and giggle while you are ruining my Show car. I was not swearing or even screaming, I was just talking firmly asking what is going on with my car and what they are doing about the damage.

ANOTHER POST:  Review Square 104 Apartments Jasper Ave.

I don’t need to know how your luxury car got damage to and that you had to replace your windshield. Go to customer service courses buddy! Or is it a woman thing? Because when I had a man standing beside me you were going to make sure everything was perfect. None of the work that you told me you would do with a man standing beside me got done.

Please people do not go to this dealership. Nice until you drop your money into them and then up yours. So disgusted!

  1. Bought my jeep from them, everything was good. Brought it in for my first oil change…and they tell me my fog lights don’t work…which was funny because we used them the night before. I asked if they actually turned them on. They acted like they couldn’t see the light during the day. I haven’t been back since. I go to Southtown now. Will NEVER go back to Capital.

  2. We bought there years ago. Never again. Worst service ever. We were in a pinch and rushed and they took advantage of us. Partly our fault but the sales pressure was bad. And the service was worse. They gave me oil change coupons with expiry dates and always found something else wrong every time I went. Never go there.

    1. Well, you are lucky. When you say we, was it you and your husband? Just asking, because like I said, it was a whole different story when I had my girlfriends husband standing beside me and when I went in alone.

  3. I had a newer caravan that would randomly stall (like completely turn off, no lights, no gas, nothing) I decided to take it in after it’s stalled in a major intersection. $300 for a diagnosis to not even get to the route of the problem. They said if it happened again bring it back immediately, happened not 5 mins after I left. Brought it back, they magically came up with $3000 worth of work it needed (4 yr old van btw) and still could not give me a positive answer it would fix the problem. We got rid of the van and bought a Honda. They still call us regularly asking us to come back and buy a vehicle despite asking repeatedly for them to remove us from their call list. My husband still owns a dodge truck and it had a recall that needed replaced, they could get him in the soonest so he took it there, they did a vehicle report of items that needed “fixed” apparently brake lights and right signal were out. Odd considering they were working before, my husband pulled it out of the bay and checked and both were functioning normally. Also when they fixed the recall (airbag) the light would not turn off, told him it was his issue and he would have to pay to have it fixed…??? But you just were working on it, it’s all related to the recall…why should he have to pay to diagnose the issue?

  4. As someone who has worked in dealerships for a decade, let me tell you, it is quite common to have to redo 3m on vehicles, sometimes it doesn’t adhere properly to some vehicles as they are all shaped differently. Did they tell you how to care for it for the first while? You’re not supposed to wash for a few days after installation due to it will cause it to lift. As for added kms, most dealerships sublet 3m, tint, and some remote starts as they don’t have people to install, and the machine to cut the 3m for the vehicles cost about $14,000.. then comes the training on the machine and how to install. But 300 km is way too many. Once you have signed papers with finance and given your money, it is the service department who ensures that it is installed, sales just tell them what’s needed. If the sales manager or salesperson was such an ass, go to the general manager. They don’t know how their place is ran if no one speaks up about it. As for damage, there should be a complete walk around of your vehicle once you have gotten to the dealer and they should note any damage if any on that checklist to ensure it is all noted once you drop off the vehicle. That is what covers both your and their ass. Sorry for your luck.

    1. I asked for care instructions for the 3M, and was told just don’t pressure wash it for the first little bit. I also got told that at least those paint chips underneath(caused by them) will never rust! What the hell is that! I really do think it is a woman thing!

  5. We had a truck serviced there several times. They lied about our truck being out of alignment. We had our oil change on a Friday and came in for warranty work the following Tuesday and in those 3 days my truck got mis aligned. I had them check and they blamed the machine. Used normal oil instead of synthetic which we pay more for and expect synthetic.. left oily/greasy fingerprints in the vehicle.. I will be shopping else where to take my Dodge Ram 3500. I did recently realize that a lot of the staff is young and not experienced enough in customer service or they don’t give a flying fuk. I just feel that LIES is all I hear when I talk to them. One of the girls who works there is super friendly at the desk but the boys/ men who run the service department are not who I want servicing my vehicle. I would rather drive to leduc or Sherwood park. I miss the days I had my Audi and the service was so over and beyond and phenomenal. I hope Dodge capital gets their S***T together.

    [0]
    1. Sherwood park Chevrolet is amazing, my fiancé has purchased two vehicles from them and they have been phenomenal both times. Gone above and beyond any expectations we had.

  6. Majority of these dealer ships are such scammers.I had a horrible experience with Park Mazda. They think because your a woman that they can scam or give you lip service.

    [0]
    1. They chose the wrong woman this time. And yeah, I think it is because I’m a single woman, and so does everyone I talk to! And I’m just going to keep talking and telling my story! Already talked 2 friend out of going there for their new vehicles.

  7. Capital is terrible!! I was kicking tires and they refused to even look for anything remotely close to what I was searching out and were insisting I look at trucks worth double what I wanted, although their lot had plenty of other options that may have worked. Told this story to a 3 people and all of them had had experiences with them in a very negative level. Will never walk through their doors again.

  8. 30 day return policy. Return the car and go to another dealership. AMVIC should be able to give you any info you need. I brought a used vehicle from Great West Chrysler (worst dealership by far to deal with) the motor went in the truck in less than a month. They issued back my full loan amount.

    [0]
    1. There is absolutely no 30 day return policy when you purchase a vehicle. Once you sign that contract to purchase… it’s yours.
Unless…. the dealership has a written warranty or guarantee in the contract. Otherwise, final sale.
In your case, you had an engine failure and may have had a warranty/ guarantee which covered you.
Many dealerships don’t warranty on used.
Either way… there is no implied 30 day return window on vehicle purchases.

      [0]
    2. so basically, there is a return policy when the seller allows it. Hmm… Pretty much what I just said. I bought a truck and I was told I had 15 days to return it at no charge or cost if I changed my mind.

  9. Bought a brand new jeep here. Everytime I take it in for an oil change, their inspection finds a zillion things that need to be done. If I did everything thry suggested, my “routine maintenance” would be $1000. I had brand new tires put on at Kal Tire three days orior to an oil change. At the oil change, they told me that my tires needed replacing. I told them – these are brand new. They just looked at me.

    1. Lol, I love Dodge! Every make of vehicle has their crap cars! I once owned the Chevy Cobalt, yes the one that had all the recalls. Will never own a Chevy again. And every make has their great cars too!

      [0]
  10. We bought our Dodge Ram there- huge mistake. Firstly, they sold our truck to someone else!!! Then they promised us a remote start to compensate for it… we pick it up and NO remote start and the truck has the wrong hood on it. Never ever again!!

    [0]
    1. Gregory Kiejko the truck we paid for did have the sport hood we wanted- when we picked it up, it was gone and a different hood was on the truck. They had sold our truck to someone else. They had to order us a sport hood and it took 3 weeks. The remote start was promised to us as well but was never installed. Just a bunch of headaches.

      [0]
    2. Mistakes do happen we are all human and you got the hood you wanted. The remote start will be in the contract, just make an appointment to get it installed. They have to follow the contract by law.

  11. Capital is the worst. We bought a brand new ram from them and 4 months later the bumper was rusting. Went in and the same treatment. We called Chrysler Canada directly and they replaced the bumper free of charge at the dealership of our choice.

    [0]
    1. Our bumper has a rust spot and they took a look and said to just keep an eye on it.. said dodge won’t replace something that small. It’s the size of a nickel right now.

      [0]
    2. We were told by Capital that they’d just buff it out and it’d be fine. My hubby is a mechanic and we also own a tow truck business, so there answer wasn’t good enough lol

      [0]
    3. I got told by them that they would buff and pen paint the chips while I had a man standing there, but when I went to pick it up, wasn’t done. Bunch of liars! I also got a call from the woman in service after the second application. She told me she inspected it herself and it was perfect. Got there, there was rock chips in paint, debris under the 3M and scratches. Going to be making calls! If they don’t want the title of sleezy, then don’t act that way!

  12. If you’re looking for a good dodge dealership in the city go to Londonderry dodge. My bf just bought a truck there. Got home and realized the sport decal on the hood was peeling on the end, they took it back no questions asked. re decaled it. Then we got it home and noticed a small dent in the fender (probably from when they were reaching to put the decal on . They apologized and the next morning had it in and poped the dent out. Nothing but an amazing experience there! Will definitely buy again.

    [0]
    1. We bought 2 from there… nope. Tried benefit of doubt on a 3rd but didnt go through since they lied about having the vehicle. Thank goodness! Ill pass Keri Martin lol

      [0]
    2. Not to mention my truck was left in their parking lot across the street in the winter with my window left open. I was lucky it wasnt stolen or vandalised. They never even apologized for it.

      [0]
    3. Purchased three years ago from Londonderry…never again..they kept.calling me last yr to buy a new car..so I finally went in…ended up with three different people…three different offers on my car… (oddly no one even had even looked at it…)..went to.meet one guy to probably do a sale…walked in for my appointment but he had a client that he was busy with and handed me over to another salesman…should ha e walked away then…he low balled an offer again on my car…without seeing my car so i left… then i kept getting emails…wanting “my side.of the story”….still not sure the last salesman said but i never did get an answer…ill never buy from them…just purchased from Great West…

      [0]
    4. I’ve had great experiences with Londonderry. I told them exactly what I wanted and they had it in the Shop with me signing the papers within 12 hours. No other dealership in the city could find it.
My next trade in they treated me like gold. Lended me a brand new car while we were sorting out the trade, even when I told them I have my dogs. When we did the financing they even wanted me to bring the dogs inside. Everyone was so happy to meet them.
It all depends on who you deal with. Sometimes you’ll get a good salesman, sometimes you won’t. Either way, trust your gut.

    5. Bruce Lakusta always. All dealerships in Alberta are regulated by AMVIC. They have a database online that tells you who is licensed to sell vehicles

      [0]
  13. Im not trying to justify but do they do 3M inhouse or do they need to bring it somewhere? If its across the city, having to bring it twice makes it very easy to put 300km on it.

    [0]
  14. Had the same situation at great west Chrysler on the west end. Horrible service. Now I bring my jeep to Londonderry dodge and they treat me like I’ve bought 10 vehicles from them. Never an issue or problem with anything! Couldn’t ask for better service. They told me that they get all the customers from the horrible dealerships across Edmonton Every day. Needless to say my next jeep will be from Londonderry.

    [0]
    1. It’s an ongoing issues with almost every customer that great west serves. Londonderry is there to pick up the pieces after the service is so shitty and useless.

  15. The legend of the Chevy farm grew here in the West
Now people come from far and wide to put us to the test
And when the deal is done they’ll agree there’s only one who leads the way.
The legend of the Chevy farm. West gate Chevrolet

    [0]
    1. Sorry, but I was an owner of a Cobalt when all those recalls happened and I will not return to Chevy. Everyone has their own opinion, and that’s fine, just personally can’t do it! Lol

      [0]
    1. Yes, she has been in the show and shines and a lot of car meets! The luxury car was talking about the sales manager telling me his problems.

      [0]
    1. Unbelievable! I’m glad this is generating all this conversation because people need to be aware, and dealerships need to wise up! Thank you

    2. Yeah I’ve been steering people away from this dealership for over 8 years they are absolute crooks, which is there lose being ad I’ve bought over 4 brand new vehicles in the last 6 years alone.and they still call me pile 4 times a year to see if I want to upgrade again through them and I’ve asked dozen times for them to stop calling until they mail me my checks, they claim the paperwork was lost, even though my friends still have copies of the paperwork they filled out saying they where refered there by me.

  16. No Dan. Try driving from one end to the other 4 times. Not just henday. But from location to location.
My car had to get its remote start brought back in. Twice. Wasnt in house and same thing happened. I ended up going to said company across the city and yes, the kms added up.

    [0]
  17. Leah Oliveira I google mapped the place that did the 3M, and it is 12 KMS from the dealership. So they had to do it twice, that’s still only 48 kms. I wouldn’t have even cared if it was only 100, but 300! And then lie, when I have pictures of the odometer when I dropped it off. Bad mistake!

    [0]
  18. Londonderry took 3 yrs to replace a bumper damaged but the car carrier it came off..Then they replaced the wrong bumper. Lol..10 days later I had it back!!!

    [0]
  19. I bought my car at Crosstown. They are fabulous to deal with! I would definitely purchase another vehicle there.:) sorry for your bad luck. Hopefully Capital will do what it takes to rectify the situation.

    [0]
    1. Yup they ripped off a family member and within one day was willing to increase his purchase for another vehicle and they wouldn’t even talk to him. Try adding comments to their Facebook site so people stay away and they have it blocked from comments and reviews. No reputable dealership does that!

      [0]
  20. My husband & I had a really bad experience at this dealership. We thought we bought a dodge ram 5.7 hemi – we received a 3.6 dodge ram 1500 with badging for a hemi on the side of the truck!! We brought this to the attention of the general manager & he offered us a free tank of gas. Tried to call AMVIC & report the matter – they told us it was all he said/she said & we couldn’t prove anything without something on paper. Argh! Will not ever go back there or recommend the dealership to anyone!

    [0]
  21. I hope you can get your situation fixed, don’t let these scammers, ( will say anything you want to hear) but all they want is a sale, sorry this happened to you but don’t let it go, go the the ceo or a lawyer if you have to, these liars have to be held accountable.

    [0]
  22. Stealerships! They call them that for a reason lol..

My mom got taken to the cleaners at “Go Auto, Westside” horrible experience there, I almost bought a Subaru STI from them, glad I didn’t..

Then my mom went to spruce grove Chrysler to get a new car after having such shitty time at GoAUTO.

Then they played games with her there as well, to the point me and my moms old man had to go in there and make it loud and clear that they were going to fix their “paperwork errors”… eventually it was sorted out after some not very pleasant tactics..

The take home, dealerships, are stealerships and they have one thing on the agenda, locking you into a contract and taking your money…
there’s few that want to do the right thing. But that is rare

    [0]
  23. I’ll never buy a jeep again..bought a brand new 2010 patriot off the show room floor, gas mileage sucked, things failed right after the 60 k warranty was up..thank goodness I worked for a dealership that I got things fixed for very little cost, then traded it in for a highlander..best decision I’ve ever made, but then again, I’ve worked for Toyota for over 11 years

    [0]
  24. Bought my Journey there.. love the vehicle but I would never go to that dealership again.. the salesman told me the vehicle had features that it doesn’t.. And financing encouraged me to commit fraud to get approved.. yeah I would never go back there!!

    [0]
  25. ALL dealership sales conversations NEED to be recorded on your cell phone. Many of them are scammers, and use hard sales techniques, and make promises they never keep. If it’s not on paper, or recorded you stand a big chance of being screwed if you have any problems.
One sales guy at a the south em hyundai (99 street) was actually yelling at me as I left the building. he was trying to convince me that a new car would be cheaper than my current one. He clearly didn’t realize I am a math whiz!
Also the manager, when I purchased my current car, promised oil changes were free. Before purchasing, I asked what conditions to get free oil changes -whether I needed to get my car serviced there regularly. He said no. After the third oil change they refused saying I have to do regular maintenance to get the free oil.
